How do I apply to the National CEO Program?
The three step application process is outlined here. Applicants can only apply by completing the online application process. Any applications submitted in person or by email will not be considered.
What are the admission requirements?
Admission to the National CEO Program is exclusive to Omani nationals and will be based on professional achievement and leadership potential. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required for participants as all teaching and project facilitation sessions and materials will be delivered in English. The program also requires participants to have the full support of their company. Please visit the Who should apply section to review the admission criteria.
What company support is required?
The National CEO Program is a 12-month learning journey with three modules taking place in Muscat and three abroad. The support of every participant's CEO/Chairperson and their engagement in the program is a crucial element, for both the participant and the organisation.
The CEO’s/ Chairperson’s support is based on the following values:
- Invested in the growth and development of participants
- Committed to understanding the participant's learning experience
- Empowering the participant to be able to transfer the knowledge back to the workplace and practise the learning gained throughout
- Supporting the participant to devote the required time and effort in order to capitalise on the opportunity (Please click here to see the full time required to invest in the program)
Applicants are required to submit a support letter from their CEO/ Chairperson at stage 2 of the application process.
Please click here for a template of the support letter. The support letter must be submitted within 4 days of receipt of the email for you to be considered for the interview process.
Is there an age requirement for applicants?
Candidates must have at least eight to ten years managerial experience at a senior level to be considered for the program.
Are Omanis living abroad eligible for this program?
The National CEO Program is open for Omani nationals living in the Sultanate and abroad. Please visit the Who should apply section to review the admission criteria.
Will applicants from the Public sector be considered?
We are looking to prepare individuals for leadership positions in the Private sector. Therefore, one of the most crucial parts of the application is the demonstration of your commitment to working with the private sector and your leadership potential. Applications received from government sector candidates may be considered in future cohorts
If I am not accepted into the program, can I apply again for future intakes?
Yes. Admission to the National CEO Program is highly competitive as places are limited. Accordingly, we encourage you to reapply in the future.
What investment is required once accepted?
The National CEO Program is an investment by the Diwan of Royal Court. The Diwan of Royal Court will sponsor tuition fees, learning materials, administration, as well as travel and accommodation costs for modules taking place abroad.
Participants are expected to commit fully to the program, including all classroom modules and inter-modular work.
What if I am not available for the scheduled interviews?
The interview period is highlighted on the Program calendar section of this website. If you are invited to the interviews stage, please ensure that you are available throughout those dates as (due to high demand) we are unable to reschedule. Any applicant who misses the agreed appointment will not be considered for selection.
What if I am unable to attend a module?
Participation in the National CEO Program represents a significant investment in the individuals, their organisations, and Oman’s Private sector.
Once accepted, participants will need to sign a Service Level Agreement (SLA) indicating their full commitment to the program schedule and required course work. Participants unable to dedicate themselves to the entire program* for any reason will be released from the program.
*Please refer to the Program calendar for the complete schedule of program modules and timeline.
How much preparation work is expected from me prior to the program modules?
The program faculty will prepare pre-reading materials for participants. The program coordinators will email the required materials to the participants several weeks in advance, which must be read before each module starts.
Can my spouse or family member attend and stay with me for modules taking place abroad?
Spouses or family members may accompany participants to the modules abroad at their own expense. However, only participants may attend the classroom sessions, company visits and other program activities.
